Hands Off Iran!
I’m sick and tired of the propaganda.
Western leaders are playing with fire – a very real possibility of war in the Middle East – when they single out Iran for crippling sanctions, and for no good reason.
What’s up with our sociopathic leaders? What motivates them? Why are they determined to create global havoc when we could have peace instead? What on earth is on their minds?
I, for one, do not believe for one moment that Iran has nuclear weapons, or even intends building them. In fact, I’m much more inclined to believe what they say than what the US and Israeli leadership say on this matter. And let’s never forget that while we are told the “world” is against Iran getting the bomb, it is in fact only two countries that are obsessed with that non-event – the USA and Israel. Or more correctly, the USA pressured by Israel.
Iran is compliant with all IAEA regulations, and its nuclear facilities are continually under inspection. Sure, Iran is not compliant with UN Security Council Resolutions demanding that Iran cease uranium enrichment, but why should they be compliant – just because the USA says so? More importantly, US intelligence agencies also concur that Iran is not building a nuclear bomb.
On the other hand, the elephant in the living room is Israel – which does in fact have many nuclear weapons (and is crazy enough to use them if pushed into a corner) – a country which is not a member of the IAEA, which does not allow inspections, and which continually ignores UN resolutions.
If you were to ask me who do I trust least – Iran or Israel – I’d say unequivocally that I don’t trust Israel at all.
There is something entirely fishy about this whole anti-Iran campaign, and ordinary Iranians are suffering for no good reason.
I do not know the true motivations of the US and Israel in this regards, but can make a guess at a few – including the desire to ensure Iran does not become a major regional power (to challenge Israel); to gain access to Iran’s oil and natural gas reserves; to punish Iran for wanting to stand up to US global hegemony; or as simply part of their war against Islam.
Whatever the reason, they do not speak for the world. In fact, I would go further and say that the “world” is more likely to be behind Iran – not the US/Israeli axis of bullying.
We live in a topsy-turvy world, where war is peace, lies are truth, and where Orwell’s predictions from his novel 1984 are coming true before our eyes – and I, for one, will simply not go along with it.
Iranians are just like other people. They want to get on with life, raise their families well and live in a peaceful world – if only our sociopathic leaders would allow us!
What’s missing is a human perspective on Iran, instead of all this “all options are on the table” war propaganda. And to get such a perspective I strongly recommend you watch this fascinating video by American travel documentary maker – Rick Steves. If only more Americans (and their leaders) would watch this, and perhaps even visit Iran and meet its people, then perhaps we could see some rationality in global affairs.

A very interesting and thought-provoking perspective. I agree that world opinion is shifting away from Israel with their bullying backed by big brother America. Much of the blame for Islamic extremism in Iran can be laid at the door of the USA with their meddling in its internal politics going back to the 1950s and beyond. And as you say, oil was the major attraction.
