This Blog

One of the things I hold most sacred is the right to think my own thoughts and speak my mind – and the right to consider any number of opinions in coming to my own conclusions. This comes down to freedom of thought and speech – something sorely lacking in this post 9/11 Orwellian world.

One of the biggest enemies of free thought and speech is the fear of not being accepted or being ridiculed by other people – which acts as a natural censor on what we are prepared to say or discuss in public.

The other and obvious enemy of free thought and speech is the state itself, which is always and forever threatened by free-thinking individuals.

Because of my commitment to free speech and free thought, nothing is banned from discussion on this blog.

I have no time for “right” or “left” politics, religious fantasies, dogmatic assertions, or any opinions based on group-think and irrationality – simply because such opinions cannot be discussed in a sane and rational manner.

On the other hand, if someone is prepared to state their case and calmly and rationally defend it – then so be it, I’m prepared to talk.

This blog is about freedom. It’s about what freedom means in this totalitarian, nation-state obsessed world. And it’s about planting seeds of liberation in people’s minds.
