Doug Casey emphatically says “no” in this pithy quote from the Casey Report:
In reality, there’s little philosophical difference between the Republicrats and the Demopublicans; they’re really just two wings of the same party. The left wing of the party claims to believe in social freedom (but doesn’t) and overtly disbelieves in economic freedom. The right wing says it believes in economic freedom (but doesn’t) and overtly disbelieves in social freedom. The right wing uses more aggressive rhetoric to build the warfare state, and the left wing talks more about the welfare state. But the net difference between them is minuscule. That’s because they share the same corrupt intellectual and moral views.
Much discussion has centered around the obvious fact that the American Empire is in decline. The signs are everywhere, and Philip Giraldi – former counter-terrorism specialist with the CIA – sees the end as inevitable:
Goodnight, America, and Good-Bye
In an increasingly totalitarian world – where every move, every purchase, every internet site visit, every email and a host of other personal things can be tracked if necessary – one can be excused for wanting to escape or “disappear”.
In a way, the basic idea behind the PT 6 flags strategy is to disappear in a limited way – just enough to increase one’s freedom considerably, without actually cutting oneself off from the world.
But there are people who want to fully disappear, for all sorts of reasons. So how would you do it?
James Altucher takes a personal look at this latent desire in his post…
How to Disappear Completely And Never Be Found
Here’s some interesting news with potential ramifications… the disclosure of 450 banker resignations from world banks, investment houses and money funds. Do they know something?
The Ascendence of Sociopaths in US Governance
By Doug Casey, Casey Research
An International Man lives and does business wherever he finds conditions most advantageous, regardless of arbitrary borders. He’s diversified globally, with passports from multiple countries, assets in several jurisdictions and his residence in yet another. He doesn’t depend absolutely on any country and regards all of them as competitors for his capital and expertise.
Living as an international man used to be just an interesting possibility. But few Americans opted for it, since the US used to reward those who settled in and put down roots. In fact, it rewarded them better than any other country in the world, so there was nothing pressing about becoming an international man.
An interesting article by Pepe Escobar in the Asia Times looks at the reasons the USA’s “most-feared” man is Russia’s new President – Vladimir Putin…
